SOUL JOURNEY EXPERIENCE
When My Dad Died, So Did I
A Journey from Carl to Pierce
The mask is off. Authenticity prevails. The journey continues.
The last days. April 22, 2022.
The Death That Birthed Authenticity
When my Dad died, so did I. Not in the way you might think, but in the most profound way possible. The person I had been for decades — Carl, the achiever, the performer, the one who lived to make his father proud — died alongside him. What emerged from that death was something I never expected: my authentic self.
This is my story of spiritual awakening and soul level transformation, a journey that led me from the baseball diamond to the depths of my soul, from chasing external validation to accessing my authentic power. It's a story about breaking generational trauma patterns and discovering that sometimes, to truly live, we must first allow parts of ourselves to die.
The Perfect Game I Never Wanted to Pitch
For most of my life, I was Carl — named after my father, molded in his image, carrying his dreams and expectations like a heavy uniform I could never take off. I collected hundreds of sports trophies, each one gathering dust as a monument to a life I was living for someone else. The truth is, I hated pitching. I loved catching. But pitchers got seen, and catchers had to wear a mask. I chose pitching because Dad was happy with this choice.
But somehow, the mask stayed on.
This pattern of achievement addiction and people-pleasing defined my existence. I became what my father wanted, what my mother wanted, what the world wanted to see — “the supposed to be man,” not the meant to be one. I was trapped in a cycle of performing, always seeking that elusive approval, never feeling like I was enough.
During the final days of my father's life, I found myself calling my coach, furious that once again I was pitching a perfect game for him when I really didn't want to anymore. My coach's response was simple but profound: “Why are you surprised you have to lead? You know what you have to do.” Then he hung up.
The Moment Everything Changed
I walked back into the ICU and did the very thing I thought was his job — to be vulnerable. For the first time in our relationship, I dropped the performance and spoke from my heart:
“You didn't fail me, Dad. Let me acknowledge you for who you are. Your courage, your resilience, your work ethic, even your humor — it's what I have become, and it will live on inside of me. It has made me successful. But I was too busy hating you because I wanted to hear this from you. I love you, Dad!”
His response was simple: “Alright, I'll see you in the morning.”
And that was enough for me. Our relationship was fulfilled in that moment. The journey with my Dad was arduous, filled with shame and pain, and I wouldn't change a thing. I realized as my Dad completed his life, and I completed mine as Carl, that he gave me Power of Attorney because he knew Carl doesn't lose a game in the bottom of the 9th. No way! I always find a way — except now I don't have to lose myself in the process.
The Ayahuasca Prophecy and Legal Transformation
A month prior to my Dad's passing, Ayahuasca told me that I would also die. At the time, I didn't understand what this meant. But as I stood in that ICU, I began to comprehend the profound truth of this plant medicine prophecy. The death wouldn't be physical — it would be the death of the false self I had constructed to please others.
On August 24th, I flew back to the states to meet with a judge to legally change my name. Harmoniously, it was my late mother's birthday, and she wouldn't have named me Carl. This wasn't just a legal formality — it was a consciousness transformation from one identity to another, from living someone else's life to claiming my own.
The synchronicity was undeniable. My mother, who had passed years before, seemed to be blessing this transformation from beyond. The universe was aligning to support my emergence into authenticity.
Breaking Generational Patterns
I am here to break the mold. Yes, that means the family ancestry. For generations, the men in my family had passed down patterns of emotional unavailability, the burden of unrealistic expectations, and the belief that love must be earned through achievement. I became his pride, fulfilling that role, chasing his love and acceptance. Although I prevailed countless times, I was never enough.
But I wasn't created nor born to please my father or to make him proud. That's just how things get set up between father and son — this invisible contract that says the son is responsible for making the father proud, for living for him rather than living as himself.
Through my work with plant medicine and shamanic healing, I've learned that these patterns don't have to continue. We can choose to transform generational trauma into generational healing. We can break the cycles that have held our families captive for decades, even centuries.
The Birth of Pierce
Carl and Coach Carl are now done and complete. Pierce is here. The mask is off. At last.
Pierce represents everything Carl was afraid to be — authentic, vulnerable, connected to his soul rather than his achievements. Pierce doesn't need external validation because he has found his worth within. Pierce understands that true power comes not from performing for others, but from accessing authentic power through connection to something greater than himself.
This transformation didn't happen overnight. It required soul retrieval, the shamanic process of reclaiming the parts of ourselves we've lost or given away. It required facing the pain, the shame, and the generational wounds that had been passed down through my lineage. It required the courage to disappoint others in order to honor myself.
The Journey Continues
As I write this, I realize that I haven't even begun. The death of Carl was just the beginning of Pierce's journey. Now, I help others navigate their own transformations, their own deaths and rebirths. I guide people through their own spiritual awakening processes, helping them shed the masks they've worn and discover who they truly are beneath the expectations and conditioning.
My work focuses on helping high achievers and trauma survivors understand that there's a difference between success and fulfillment, between performing and being. I help people access their 5D consciousness, moving beyond the three-dimensional world of achievement and competition into a higher dimensional way of being that honors both success and soul.
The Invitation
If you're reading this and something resonates, if you feel the call to your own transformation, know that you're not alone. The journey from who you think you should be to who you truly are is the most important journey you'll ever take. It requires courage, it requires support, and sometimes it requires the guidance of someone who has walked this path before.
The mask you've been wearing — whether it's the achiever, the people-pleaser, the perfect child, or the successful professional — doesn't have to define you forever. Beneath that mask is your authentic self, waiting to be discovered, waiting to be honored, waiting to live.
Your own death and rebirth await. The question is: are you ready to let go of who you've been to become who you're meant to be?
Pierce is here. The mask is off. The journey continues.

About Maestro Sani
Transformational Guide & Founder
For 25 years, I’ve sat in rooms with people from all walks of life, navigating some of the hardest parts of the human experience—facilitating, processing, and holding space for transformation that most environments are not built to handle. My work is grounded in 25 years of transformational mastery and four years of integrating Ayahuasca and plant medicine with success.
That work eventually became something bigger than any one session or conversation could hold. It became the Soul Journey Experience—a structured, complete process built around preparation, deep work, and integration. It is designed for people who are ready to stop circling the same problems and move through them.
I don’t lead with credentials. I lead with experience—and with years of proof that real transformation is not a weekend event. It is a process, and it must be held by someone who has genuinely walked that path themselves.
What that process looks like, and what it asks of the people who enter it, is something I would rather show you than summarize here.
